The  NEET-UG or National Eligibility Entrance Test is an entrance examination for students wishing to pursue any graduate or Post Graduate medical course (MBBS/ dental course (BDS) /(MD / MS) in any government or private medical colleges in India. On January 31, 2017, Tamil Nadu became the first State to introduce Bills in the Legislative Assembly to exempt medical aspirants from appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical and dental colleges. But After a court order on August 1st, 2017 nullified 85 % reservation for state education board students in medical colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu, the state government has been bent on challenging the order in the Supreme Court, Several thousand medical aspirants vying for some 3,000 MBBS seats in Tamil Nadu are left stranded as they have not given NEET after the state government’s declaration to scrap the exam for state board students. As a result, counseling has already begun for those who’ve cleared the NEET, students from the state are caught in an inconvenient spot.

Our Suggestion: It finally boils down to the students , whose future is at stake in the battle between State and Centre. So, keeping that in mind, a certain percentage of seats could be reserved for these students (FOR WHOM NEET might be conducted again), till a consensus arrives between centre-State.
